Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account data: email, hashed password, name.
• Profile data: age, gender, preferences, location (city-level), photos, prompt answers, education, religion, dating intent.
• Activity data: likes, passes, matches, messages, blocks and reports, boost activations, referral use.
• Payment data: handled by Stripe. We store transaction IDs and subscription status only — never card numbers.
• Verification data: selfies submitted for photo verification and the AI's confidence score.

How we use it

• Show your profile to potential matches and rank whom you see.
• Deliver and improve features like curated picks, insights, and moderation.
• Process payments and prevent fraud.
• Enforce our Terms — detect and act on reports of abuse.
• Send you transactional emails (password resets, receipts). We do not sell your data.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers we need to operate the app: Stripe (payments), our object storage provider (photo hosting), our email provider (transactional email), and our AI provider for content moderation, photo verification, and profile-writing features. We do not share your personal data with advertisers.

Your controls

• Edit or delete your photos and prompts anytime.
• Block and report other users.
• Delete your account and all associated data by contacting support.
• Request an export of your data by emailing us.

Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use industry-standard practices, but no system is impenetrable — please use a strong, unique password.

Children

Prose is 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has an account, report it and we'll remove it.

Changes

If we materially change this policy we'll tell you in-app or via email before it takes effect.
